calvin & hobbes, pearls before swine, what else?

Older teen nephew loves these two comics. Also likes Zits but prefers the humor in C&H and Pearls. Looking for ideas for a new comic strip series (published in book form) that would appeal to him. Thanks.

It's old, but, The Far Side.

Also, Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, set in the DC area

Bloom County, of course. Or just the books about Opus.

Maybe Doonesbury although the political commentary now would be dated.

My kid who likes C and H and Zits liked the New Yorker Cartoon book!

+1, the Hell series, Calvin and Hobbes and the Far Side are all classics. I would have put Dilbert in the same category before Scott Adams lost his mind

We have many of the Pearls Before Swine books - if you are purchasing keep an eye if you are buying the Treasury as there are overlaps in content. (I assume you know that)
There is a wiki page that shows it.

Pogo
Foxtrot
Doonesbury
Bloom County
Far Side
Baby Blues
(Old) Peanuts
(Old) Archies

My kids who like C&H & Pearls also like all of the above.

My 12yo loves Doonesbury from the 70s and doesn’t get a lot of the political stuff.

Thanks from OP. These are all great recs, and nephew has enjoyed many of these listed through the years.

The one new to me (and my sister/his mom) is Life of Hell by Matt Groening. he loves the Simpsons so that one could be a hit - thank you!
