| I never really paid much attention before, but Woodson's athletic symbol and the name is the same as UVA's. Isn't that biased? Not all kids are going to be able to get into UVA and there are other great schools in VA. It just seems kind of weird they couldn't come up with a unique logo and name. |
| Yes, they clearly need to change the name to "Historians" to accompany the new name of Carter G. Woodson, and the insignia can be a dusty library shelf. |
| It's pretty common for high schools to use copies of college and professional sports logos. There are tens of thousands of high schools in America; it makes sense that some of them would opt to just take something that's already made. |

Hey dcum trolls.
There are so many real problems occuring in the world right now. Can you please stop trying to manufacture fake controversies and issues where none exist? |
|
there was a student vote to see if the mascot should change but I don't know what the outcome was.
as a parent of student there- they seem to like the mascot and don't care if they don't get into UVA. |
| Few care. Most want to go out of state. |
| Yeah, Langley's is the same as the Minnesota Vikings and Madison's is the same as the Atlanta Falcons and most of the kids there will never get to play in the NFL. Unfair. |
| Robinsons is the NFL Rams logo. Sexist! Only male graduates could ever play in the NFL! |
| Don’t forget the Fairfax High School LIONS,(formerly the Rebels). |
Let’s change it to the HOKIES! |
| This is the dumbest thread ever. Of all the things in K-12 that need fixing, you chose this? |
it seems weird that Langley is the Vikings since this is not a Viking climate. Oh well. |
Langley is the Saxons but the logo looks like the Vikings. Saxons is not inclusive and should be changed. |
Langley has a huge mural declaring “We Are All Saxons.” Overtly inclusive. |
OMG. |
