Spring bronze weatherstripping--can I DIY?

I'm not particularly handy, but I'm not the least handy person (that would be my husband). Can I DIY spring bronze weatherstripping or am I asking to make a mess, ruin my doorframe, and drive myself nuts?

It's fiddly but very doable. Having an extra set of hands makes it a lot easier.

Great, thanks! Any tips? I saw some videos that included marking the nail holes using a 2x4 ahead of time...
