I’m looking for quirky/fun baseball related gifts for a 12 year old. He already has all the gear |
My son has a light up baseball that’s the same weight and feel as a real baseball. Fun (and much safer) to use once the sun goes down. |
My kid really loved reading The Baseball 100 at that age. It is a collection of articles about the reporter's list of best 100 baseball players. He published it in the Athletic as a series in 2010 and my then 12 year old was so excited for them to be published every few days. Very cool book
If he is a fan of a certain team, we also have coasters that show the best Nationals plays from the world series they won. Something like that as a poster (they're on etsy) would also be cool. |
Oh, another idea is a t-shirt with the full dialogue of the "who's on first" skit. |
Pouch of Lancaster chewing tobacco. Put some hair on his chest.

Search Etsy (my kids do a different sport but I’ve gotten great gifts there). |
You can get a bobblehead made of him as a baseball player.
Clothes from BL101 - the ice cream shorts are popular Bruce Bolt gear Crate Plate gift box |
If he's not going to Cooperstown next summer, and doesn't already have one, a personalized cooperstown wood bat

Savannah Banana tickets? |
The bat is fun. My oldest still has his - going on 15 years now.
Autograph baseball from a player he likes. More fun than baseball cards because you can display them. |
Just FYI, they change the way they do tickets now. You have to sign up for a lottery for a particular date/city and you will find out two months before if you are able to buy them. |
Has anyone actually does crate plate? It keeps popping up in my ads and I’m curious if it’s any good or just junk. |
Yep, but after a while you start getting similar products (we not have several kinds of J bands, etc) so we stopped the subscription. If you go to the "stpre" on their site, you can see the products they have. My picky 12 yo actually liked the clothing items sent. |
Crate plate and bobble head are great ideas! Thanks |
