Maclaren strollers - where are you?

Anonymous
What happened to Maclaren strollers? The the one we bought 9 years ago was excellent. Now I'm looking for a new one and they seem no longer for sale in the US? Nothing at Walmart, Amazon, Target. Where or where did they go?

And what do you buy instead for an umbrella stroller?

Check eBay or Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. I got a double Maclaren second hand that was local, cheap and in great condition.

That’s so sad! Loved out super lightweight one! Volo maybe?

I much prefer the strollers that fold like…a briefcase, I guess…to an umbrella stroller because of being able to use one hand. I think that’s what has happened - if people are spending more money, they go for a briefcase-foldy stroller instead of an umbrella. Ours is a Minu but there are lots of course.

I got one on FB.

My Maclaren was awesome back in the day (my kid is 15 now) and I could definitely fold it with one hand.

I loved my Maclaren double ~6 years ago, but now all of the parents on my twin group are raving about other models (Zoe is one of them).

Oh no! My Quest was an amazing workhouse. After my youngest outgrew it, it sat in the garage for a few years. A friend’s dd was having a baby so I washed it up and it looked as good as new and rolled as wonderfully as ever. She loved it! Sad to hear they’re no longer around.

They can easily be folded one-handed. Mine also had a shoulder strap for carrying and weighed about 7 pounds. It was ideal.

Loved mine too…

I just googled, OP, and there are loads of sites that carry them. Not rando ones, either. Is it that you can’t find them in the physical stores?

The closest I found was a summer infant convenience umbrella stroller, or there’s an uppa baby one that was decent too (though 3 times the price of the summer infant one).

No I mean push one handed. That’s the main advantage imo over an umbrella style.

That was never an issue for us.
