Text books 5th grade?

My kid is a high performing DCPS. They don’t seem to have a single text book or at least not one that is allowed to be brought home. Kid was at a different elem previously and had a math workbook that she brought home daily for homework.
Is everything online? Kid mentions worksheets for science class but that’s about it.

Is this typical?

Yes. They probably brought their Eureka workbook home last year and their teacher this year prefers that it stays at a school. No other subjects have books.

My kids had math workbooks that came home when their school used Eureka Math, but not since then.
