| Recommend me some informative, accurate films for my evening. I just bought a bunch of snacks and would like to watch a movie or two that's balanced and educational. |
| Fauda. |
|
Munich?
|
Amazing |
| Munich (2005) is in fact in the queue! I saw one or two episodes of Fauda a while back and didn't like the main actor, but I'll give it another try. |
| Paradise Lost - a great documentary from 2003 |
It's excellent. |

Are there any good documentaries about ancient Jewish civilization? History buff here and I've become more interested in this due to recent events.
It seems like it was an interesting time - the Roman Empire had financial interests in Jerusalem but otherwise left those weird monotheist people alone, and they had a whole, in-depth culture which probably only partially survives today. Are there any good documentaries to show us what this world was like? |
There's the 9-part "Heritage: Civilization and the Jews." You might want to check out the first few episodes on Youtube. |
What is the meaning of "balanced"? Isn't "what happened and who were the players and what were the events" good enough? |
| Fauda is fantastic (but not a movie) |
I like West Bank Story. |
|
|
This one is actually really interesting. |

If you can find it anywhere, "The Little Drummer Girl":
