Trex Composite Comparisons — Transcend vs Transcend Lineage

Our family is choosing materials for a new deck project. Our contractor offers Trex Transcend and Trex Transcend Lineage at the same cost. Because the Lineage line seems to be relatively new, we haven’t found a substantial number of reviews/comparisons between the two lines.

Our contractor expressed a preference for Trex Transcend because he has a long history of using that product. There is, however, no cost difference to us. So we are really looking for crowdsourced info about how others decided between these two options.

For others, did the decision come down to aesthetic preferences? For those who selected Transcend Lineage, does it actually seem to stay cooler on sunny/hot days? Any other performance / functional difference between the two lines that we should consider?

We replaced our deck with Trex Transcend last spring. It was cool enough to walk on barefoot all summer. We only get 3-4 hrs of direct sun a day so that may be a factor but we have been happy with it.

We got transcend lineage as the transcend just looked like stripey scratched hunks of plastic. If you are looking for more realistic and subtle looking, go for the lineage. If you have farmhouse/bolder modern choices the stripier transcend regular may look good.
