Two Old Town Alexandria houses worth coveting

I think they're both absolutely stunning, in 2 very different ways. The first is nearly 250 years old!

This one is like an art piece. I wonder who lives/lived there? https://www.redfin.com/VA/Alexandria/811-Prince-St-22314/home/11840767

The patio is my favorite thing about the first one. And I don’t really love what they did to that second one at all.

I used to live down the street/around the corner from these, and you’re making me miss the neighborhood, OP.

Old Town is lovely.

Oh, those are lovely, thank you OP. The first one looks like it's straight out of an old European city.

I dunno, they are pretty silly looking for my taste.

They absolutely butchered the remodel of the first one. White everything with absolutely no character other than some exposed beams. Plus those sliding barn doors are so tacky and can't believe they used them in that house. Looks like they painted over exposed brick in the kitchen andin other rooms. Absolutely breaks my heart to see people do that to old homes like that.

Do you have an example of a 250 year old house, that's renovated really well?

Of the two links, I like that one better. The other is gorgeous, but not as livable. For its age, I think it looks like such a warm home.

That second house just called me poor, lol.

Second house is the most beautiful I've seen in DMV over 14 years of looking at houses. Seriously. A work of art.

Both are nice.

I hate places lacking character and beauty and these 2 have both in spades.

Hot damn I wish I had more money!

I LOVE them both. They are perfect.

The second house is really nice but I would t want to live on the 800 block of Prince? That’s between Washington and Route 1. Not neighborly, way too much traffic (even if it is one way there), and not even in the SE quadrant. For that amount of money, I would want a better location. IYKYK.

Can’t stand the interior of the second one but I’m a man.

I don't like the gold, but that master bathroom in the 2nd house is one of the grandest in the entire DC area. It's fancy AF.
