I know these ratings need to be taken with a grain of salt.
They did update the school ratings as of a few weeks ago if anyone is interested in comparing and seeing what they think now versus last year.. |
| Lol Inspired Teaching has 2/10? |
| School Digger ratings have also been updated. |
| Hearst ES surprised me. They went from a 6/10 to a 9/10 and last year they were a rolling dumpster fire. Good for them though! |

Wow. Haven't looked at 'greatschools' in 10 years.
Just a mirror of test score crap. |
Wow. But their test-scores are higher than the state average. Must be equity? |
I am not familiar with Hearst so can't comment on the whole rolling dumpster fire thing, but these seem to be from the 2021-22 school year, so not last year, the year before. Greatschools lags behind DCPS data by about a year. |
Is there a way to see past years? |
Do you know what it was previously? |
| Hyde-Addison improves to 9/10 |
No, and their PARCC scores did go down a little bit this year, but it's crazy to call it 2/10. |
Both ITS and Latin got terrible ratings here, and both ave notably terrible scores for underserved students, and rewarded schools, both DCPS and Charter, where underserved kids are scoring better than average (like Seaton, which got a 7). So, I think that section is weighing heavily on the "GreatSchools" rating. Deservedly, bc that's where you can tell if the teaching is actually working. |
| Our Title 1 is a 7/10 (down from 8/10 previously) and has high equity scores. I agree that weighs heavily in the calculations. |
I have found this site to have more in depth data than GreatSchools. |
That’s a good question. I haven’t found out how yet after clicking around. I’d love to see scores trends for schools. |
