Apple support- has turned AWFUL

What happened to Apple Care Customer Service? I’ve been strung along for months now trying to resolve a case where the Apple Store claimed we didn't have AppleCare when we did and when I discovered proof of receipt, I already paid out-of-pocket to fix the iphone. I’ve been transferred from every department under the sun and each time they say it’s going to take another week or another department. Did they outsource customer service? I’m shocked

A lot of it is handled by AI/ bots. It’s so sophisticated it’s hard to tell.

If everything goes to script they are still great, but the ability for front line people to make a decision seems to be gone
