Anyone in the area been successful getting wegovy .25 through Amazon pharmacy. I know about the shortages but it seems like Amazon still gets some frequently per Reddit posters, but I know Amazon pharmacy has various warehouses so availability varies by geography. Has anyone gotten it in this area in the past few weeks. Still waiting… |
I would like to know if anyone in the DMV is able to get any strength of Wegovy via Amazon or even CVS recently! |
I've been able to get various levels of wegovy, but it's been a struggle. I've had to call around pharmacy to pharmacy to get the meds. I've called CVS and had them do a 20 mile search (first around the g'burg area) then up to Westminster, MD and had them do a search. I've called first to CVS's and then to Harris Teeters. I did find a 0.5mg up in Ellicott City Target/CVS only b/c I called Westminster and they did search for me.
It can be done, but it's taken a LONGGGG While. I'm on 1mg. I randomly found a box a while ago while calling the Giant Kentlands. But that was a few weeks ago and I'm sure they're long out. |
When I couldn’t get Ozempic, I had success going to my cvs and asking them to search, then driving to the nearest one with it in stock.
This takes a little time but was reliable if you don’t want to wait. Theoretically you can call but ime they are too busy to answer the phone. |
I've been getting Wegovy 1.7 and 2.4 with no problems in the dmv. Just use a pharmacy in a less well-off part of town |
I haven’t gotten it since June. ![]() |
This is so frustrating. I’m interested in starting these meds but they’re so hard to find. |
They are doing to Wegovy/ semaglutides what they did to Adderall/stimulants: you’re going to find it harder and harder to get a doctor to prescribe it, insurance to cover it, or a pharmacy to fill it. |
(I say that as someone who has ADHD and just decided to forgo meds because it became such a nightmare.) Prepare yourself now for your plan when you have to go off Wegovy due to lack of access. |
Those are the only two doses not affected by the shortage. But anyone who started within the past 4-5 months is struggling to get the starter doses: .25 .50 and 1.0 |
Why do you think this? They’re printing money. They can’t keep up with the demand. |
Total BS speculation. |
I’m on Mounjaro but used to take Ozempic, so familiar with the shortages with semaglutide. Here are my tips, in order of what worked best for me:
The most reliable option was a specialized pharmacy I learned about through a drug rep for Ozempic who visited my doctor’s office: it’s called Ultra Care Pharmacy (locations in Moco and Columbia iirc) and they ship some parts of the year (they stopped during this Summer because of the heat and customers calling to complain, but plan to resume apparently when it’s cooler). They always had something in stock or knew exactly when it would come in and would ship it immediately. - the next best option for me was to search: “Mounjaro Maryland in stock Reddit” or something like that, and you can look for recent threads of where people were finding their meds. This helped me discover that calling grocery store pharmacies is a good bet: think Wegmans, Giant, Safeway, etc. found it at my local Wegmans. - Walmart pharmacy often had my meds but I don’t live super near Walmart so it wasn’t that convenient for me, but still a reliable option. -not my favorite route, but I had luck with the calling CVS route and asking them to look within 20 miles radius. They rarely had it and Sometimes the info was incorrect or the wait times on the phone were too long so try to call a CVS that is known to pick up the phone, for me that’s the one inside a Target near me. |
This is Mounjaro previous poster,
Wanted to add, I was originally prescribed Wegovy but from calling around a ton of pharmacies and failing to locate it last Fall, the last straw was when talking to Ultra Care they basically explained to me that it wasn’t likely going to be feasible for me to get it any time soon, because they have insights into supply chain for these type of meds and they recommended my doctor prescribe me something different. No other pharmacy gave me that insight they just said, “no, not in stock” so I switched to Ozempic, then when I had side effects on that and WL plateaued, I switched to Mounjaro and have zero side effects and 50 lb WL. These are seriously miracle medicines. |
I’m on 7.5 mounjaro, I’ve been told by pharmacists the higher doses are harder to find. Does anyone know if this is still the case? I am hoping to get to healthy weight on 7.5 or 10 at the most, then scale back for maintenance. I’m curious if anyone has experience doing something similar. |
