Squirrels damaging young tree

| I planted a serviceberry a few years ago and it’s about 9ft tall now. This year, squirrels are breaking many branches trying to get to the berries and the tree looks quite bare with 4-6 leaves at the top of each branch. I’ve read to spray the tree with cayenne water to deter the squirrels. My question is — can the tree bounce back from this? |

| Native trees are generally pretty tough. Just clean up the breaks and it should bounce back. |
