Experiences with Qelbree for ADHD?

Anonymous
We are thinking of trying Qelbree for my son who is twelve and has ADHD and anxiety. Are there any experiences with this medication? He has responded better to non stimulants than stimulants so far.

I'm also Curious about this Qelbree for my ADHD daughter currently on Quillivant and doing relatively well, except for she can't gain weight. I've hard that Qelbree is supposed to not have that side effect.

Bumping this to see if anyone else had experiences. My teen is on week 4, but it’s week 2 on the full dose. No negative side effects so far but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything at all. The dr told us it can take 4-6 weeks. If your kid takes or took this, how long did it take for you to notice any changes?

We tried at about age 11 for ADHD/Anxiety/Dyslexia boy Adderal and bad side effects, ditto Ritalin. Vvyvanse about same and Straterra not really any effect. Quelbee I think is similar to Straterra that it's a non stimulant. My recollection about age 12 on Quelbee is it didn't really do much. I think we only stayed on it though for about 3 wks. DS has inattentive v. hyperactive ADHD.

We are not on Focalin at age 14 and it's the best we've seen without many side effects. The Focalin we are on is generic ER. The only issue is it doesn't last very long and anxiety not better if worse. We took Zoloft which helped since age 12 when we discontinued ADHD meds after Quelbree. Now on generic Focalin ER, we will likely up the Zoloft or try something else in tandem with Focalin but suggest you trying maybe Focalin as we didn't do well with Stimulants but the non-stimulants didn't help at all.

Thank you for posting. Focalin ER was the most recent medication we tried and the bad side effects were still there, like they were for Ritalin. The doctor wants to give Qelbree a try and if it’s not helpful, go back to Focalin at half the dose. I appreciate you sharing.
