Quelbee I think is similar to Straterra that it's a non stimulant. My recollection about age 12 on Quelbee is it didn't really do much. I think we only stayed on it though for about 3 wks. DS has inattentive v. hyperactive ADHD.
We are not on Focalin at age 14 and it's the best we've seen without many side effects. The Focalin we are on is generic ER. The only issue is it doesn't last very long and anxiety not better if worse. We took Zoloft which helped since age 12 when we discontinued ADHD meds after Quelbree. Now on generic Focalin ER, we will likely up the Zoloft or try something else in tandem with Focalin but suggest you trying maybe Focalin as we didn't do well with Stimulants but the non-stimulants didn't help at all.
Thank you for posting. Focalin ER was the most recent medication we tried and the bad side effects were still there, like they were for Ritalin. The doctor wants to give Qelbree a try and if it’s not helpful, go back to Focalin at half the dose. I appreciate you sharing.
