I want my kids (age 10 and 13) to have fun/enriching things to do this summer but don't want to do full day camps. Are there known/recommended places to look for this, or do I need to comb through Fairfax Parktakes and various organizations' "camps" listings to try to find half-day or less programs during summer break? We're in Falls Church but willing to travel a bit in NoVA (Arlington to Loudoun, I think). Our interests are wide, from sports to coding to outdoor skills. Just do not want/need "full day" camps.
TIA for any advice, truly!! |
| Falls Church City has several half-day camps this summer. My daughter is doing an "Intro to Drones" camp that's 9am-1pm and a "Floor Hockey" camp that's 9am-noon. I remember seeing some other options as well, including tennis, pickleball, and coding. I don't believe there's a way to filter for half-day camps on their website, but their catalog is pretty short (at least compared to Fairfax County) so it's not too difficult to look through. |
| Thanks for this tip! I will check it out. I'm surprised how difficult it is to find summer activities that are less than full day. |
