3 masked teens jump on school bus, shoot at 14-year-old boy's head, beat him after gun misfires

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Three masked teens jumped on a school bus in Prince George’s County Monday afternoon and targeted a 14-year-old boy --- the last remaining student on the bus.

One of the masked teens pointed a gun at the boy and pulled the trigger three times.

Three times, the gun didn’t fire. Police later found three live rounds on the bus.

Horrific. When are we going to have strict gun control laws in this country?!?!

Wow.

That poor kid!

Three times they had a misfire?!

The victim is blessed and protected.
Hopefully his family figures out a way to drive him to a different school.

I cannot imagine how terrifying that must have been.

This is an insane story, its getting national attention.

Not that it matters, but were they targeting this boy in particular or he happened to be the unlucky one who was last on the bus.

Chat elsewhere suggests the gun might have been broken, or loaded with wrong ammunition, or the shooter didn't know how to load or shoot properly, or it was intentional to scare the victim half to death without catching a murder charge.

It's an Alternative School ("prison pipeline" school, some call them). I don't think they have alternatives to alternative schools, and parents probably aren't a position to drive him daily.

As it should!

I’m surprised it doesn’t have more comments on this site. This is crazy.

It was targeted.

Can we talk about the bus driver who stayed on the bus???

Not sure what to say. I don’t expect him to take on 3 kids especially when one is armed. I’m impressed he didn’t abandon the bus.

So sad

So despite the thread title, no one actually shot at anything, because the gun did not discharge a projectile?

Dollars to doughnuts the intended victim could identify the perpetrators.

What has happened in the criminal justice system and society generally that not one but three individuals thought this behavior was something appropriate for them to do?

Oh they know it’s wrong… they just don’t expect much of a consequence. And therein lies the problem.

PG has been focused on reforming the police, not increasing penalties for perpetrators:

Anyway, these were juveniles so let's see if they will be charged as adults. Probably not.
