First communion dresses

Anybody else freaked out by first communion dresses that look like little bridal dresses? Totally creepy to dress a little girl like a ride with a veil and everything.

Yes, but do the little girls see it that way? Or just as getting a fancy dress for a big occasion?

We found a beautiful & simple white dress, not bride-y at all (also not a Target sun dress) Also, no veil. DDs had a pearly hair clip. (DSs did not wear white suits). They all looked beautiful and respectful. Several other families will do the same.

It took a lot of looking, but we found a simple cotton eyelet dress that was dressy enough but not bride-y. Instead of a veil, I made a little flower wreath for her to wear (it was small, not big and elaborate).

Skip the veil and do a headband. How about this?
