Do kids need a 50% to pass SOL

MY DD told me yesterday, that they need a 50% to pass the Biology SOL is that true?

According to her teacher if a student score between 50-52% that will be enough for a 400 needed to pass the SOL, Between 45-50% will equal about 375-399 enough for a retake...

It’s a lot lower than you would think to pass an SOL now.

I know for math it used to be around a 60% before they changed to computer adaptive. I would assume it's something similar for science. They used to have a chart that showed the correlation but I don't know if it's still around.

Based on the results sheets, it seems that you need about 56-60% correct in order to pass.

But, remember, since it is a multiple choice test, you are likely to get correct 25% of the problems that you just guess at (assuming that there are four choices per question).

Only about half are multiple choice, that changes maybe 8-10 years ago. Many are full-in the blank, hotspot selection of 2-4 correct answers, drag and drop, etc.
