Parents tolerating young adults smoking weed, cigarettes or cigars at home

Is this making a resurgence? So disgusting. I went over to my BIL’s house and the kitchen reeked. Apparently they have a some kind of makeshift seasonal back porch cover for their oldest child to sit outside on the porch and smoke pot. I immediately told them how terrible it smelled.

I still can taste the smell in my mouth. Yuck.

Idk about the OP but I'm not white and it is indeed disgusting and unhealthy.

Cigars?!? lol I cannot imagine a teen smoking a cigar. Well, actually I can, and it's a hilarious image.

But on a more serious note, my mom let me smoke pot at home and she was, to be frank, a terrible and neglectful mother. If she hadn't let me I would have found another way to do it, but it was just one more instance of her not being able to care enough about me to set some boundaries. So my opinion of what OP witnessed is colored by my background but I do think it's' awful a parent would do that, barring some medical reason.

There’s lots of scientific studies that pot affects developing brains. Teens, whether white or not, shouldn’t be enabled to smoke it constantly.

Their house, their rules. Maybe this was a compromise so that their kid doesn't go shoot up meth somewhere. Or maybe they don't mind the smell. Or maybe the pot is really theirs and they are blaming it on the kid. If you don't like it, don't visit.

Nope. I grew up in a house where my parents smoked, and that will never happen in my house.
