South Bowie HS

Can someone with more knowledge than me tell me - are they EVER going to build a South Bowie HS?

I wouldn't expect any movement on this soon. Bowie HS isn't the biggest high school in the county and according to pupil accounting isn't over enrolled (89% Capacity).
Bigger and more crowded high schools are
High Point 3003 students 144% capacity
Flowers 2589 118%
Parkdale 2561 112%
Roosevelt 2526 121%
DuVal 2503 111%
Bowie 2460 89%
Northwestern 2346 100%
Wise 2257 90%
Bladensburg 2164 121%
Most of these are North County and I would expect a new high school would be built there first.
PGCPS has a Capital Improvement Plan and Educational Facilities Master Plan on their website.
Looks like a new Northern Area High School, replacement of High Point High School and a new International High School is in the plan.

Sure, but I'm guessing they will focus on the most over enrolled schools (High Point, Bladensburg, Roosevelt) first. They are also going to focus the re-boundary of the high schools later this year.

And it has not been updated to reflect traffic appropriately from my understanding. Drop off and pick up- as someone who lives near it- is awful. Cars line the street. I would love to know why there is not a dedicated drop-off and pickup section and why the cop that sits there doesn't give a ticket to every single car blocking the turning lanes.

Tasker has similar issues.
