Should I prune lavender and rosemary?

| When in the DMV do you prune lavender and rosemary? Should I wait for first bloom for lavender? Some are leggy but some might be okay. |

Do you need them to be smaller?
"pruning" lavender is really about getting more flowers. You can cut back Rosemary to try to keep it a certain size or less woody but I would either let it do it's thing or start over if it's really too big. |
