Dog Making Weird Noise-Kinda Like Going to Throw Up but Different

I have a mixed breed dog, definitely has some pit and some cattle dog. He just made this weird sound like he was going to throw up, but not exactly like that. It almost sounded like he had something stuck in his throat but there was nothing there. After making the noise like 6-7 times it just stopped and he seemed ok after that.

What could it be?!

Sounds like typical kennel cough, which is a family of viruses. Has he had the vaccine? Even if he hasn't, if he's generally in good health, he'll be fine. If you're worried, you can take a video and send it to your vet. Rest your dog.

Agree, googling videos of dogs coughing. That’s what it sounds like you’re describing.

My dog was doing exactly that for a couple of months and it turned out to be stomach cancer. He had been gagging from the nausea all along.
I don’t want to scare you, but definitely get your pooch checked out.
