Kids With Special Needs and Disabilities
|
DS is almost 3 and recently diagnosed with autism. We need to find a developmental pediatrican because up until now, we've been going to a regular one.
We live in South Arlington, so Arlington/Alexandria would be great, but if you have someone you love elsewhere, please include him/her. Thanks in advance! |
| Dan Shapiro in Rockville but his practice is often closed. Sometimes he opens his practice so call periodically and listen to his outgoing message. |
| We're in Alexandria and use Dr. Chuck Conlon (in Bethesda) but I heard that he's not accepting new patients. If that's true, you might call his office and see if he could recommend someone in private practice or give you a name of someone at like Children's. When DH was having problems finding a doctor treat adult ADHD, Dr. Conlon made several recommendations that were helpful. Good luck. |
| It ususally takes 7-8 momths to get a appointment at Childrens. It didn't take more that 2 months at Kennedy Kreiger in Baltimore, but we spent most of the time with a 3rd year resident. Don't wait months to make an appointment. We think our Dev. Ped is OK, knows his stuff, but doesn't have the best bedside manner. |
