Do you have favorite independent book publishers? I just mentioned this on the B&N thread, but I have been tracking who publishes the books I read this year and making an effort to seek out books published by companies other than the "big 5". It's a little tricky because the Big 5 own so many imprints.
Can anyone share non-Big 5 publishing houses that they follow? A few of mine are: Archipeglago Books NYRB books Persephone Books (based in London) Virago Press W.W. Norton and Co (their Liveright imprint is great for history) Hawthorne Books Graywolf Press House of Anansi Europa Editions Grove Atlantic |

I have not! Thank you! But I see they published Ducks, Newburyport by Lucy Ellman which was a favorite for me. Also A Girl is a Half-Formed thing, which I appreciated even though I didn't enjoy it. So I will keep an eye on them! |
