Academic summer classes for rising 9th grader?

My 9th grader is uninterested in regular outdoor or sports camps but I want him to do something this summer. What kinds of academic camps/classes are there in DC or NOVA? I saw Sidwell has some courses but some are only 1.5-2 hours/day, so it would be a pain to drive back and forth with my work schedule. Is there anything that takes up most of the day (9-3), maybe mixed in with activities, sports, and free time? What are other rising 9th graders doing if they aren't going to camp?

Bishop Ireton, St Stephens St Agnes, and Fairfax Collegiate all have a bunch of more academic classes.
