Lakes in WVA/Western Maryland

I was thinking about heading to the mountains with our two young kids instead of the beach for a long weekend this summer.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in western maryland or WVA/VA with a nice lake for swimming, beautiful setting, not too crowded?

I heard Trout Pond in WV was really good, exactly what you describe, but living accommodations are camping only (tent, no cabins). DD went with her grandma last year and they both loved it.

Deep Creek Lake in W Va? Lots of cabin rentals there.

Deep Creek is in MD (that far western part which is almost WVa). The town is called McHenry, MD. It's nice, but I've only been there in the winter for skiing.
