The Most Scathing Book Reviews of 2022

Enjoy!

I was smugly satisfied to see one book I listened to - The Unfolding - on the list. It wasn't so bad that is was unforgettable, but I keep thinking about it because it really could have been a good novella.

“Moshfegh’s own sacraments involve a different orifice, so you will forgive her if her search has led her up her own a$$"

lol! These are comedy gold. I haven't read any on the list, but this has piqued my interest.

Wow - these are awesome. Thanks!

Meanwhile, when I saw this post, I immediately thought of the NY Times review of Jared Kushner's "memior". Hilarious review, albeit like shooting fish in a barrel:

Wow. Those are brutal! My own novel came and went in 2022 with barely a blip from reviewers, maybe that was a blessing? At least I sold the film rights. . .

Wait, what? A fancy pant author who sold film rights hangs out in the DCUM cesspool?

Failed authors dying to cut down other authors… how predictable. It’s so over the top and boring.

PP novelist here -- thanks for all the congrats! And no, I am not Susan, but yes I am local to the DMV.

I sold the rights, they have hired a writer, now I just wait to see if anything actually happens! I'll be sure to let DCUm know. . .
