Anniversary dinner restaurant - vegetarian, gluten free

I'm looking for a nice place for an anniversary dinner. We are both vegetarian (eat eggs and dairy) and my spouse recently has switched to a gluten free diet to manage some auto-immune conditions. Our go-to used to be italian restaurants for celebration dinners, but that may not be an option if spouse can't have pasta.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good spot in NW DC or close-in MoCo? Doesn't have to be all vegetarian or all gluten-free, just enough options to have a special meal. Thanks!

Just find an Italian place with GF pasta option, most have this these days.

Central by Michel Richard is a little fusty, but they have really great vegetarian entrees. And their french fries are to do for!

True Food Kitchen in Bethesda is great and will be able to manage that.

Equinox! Also Iron Gate, Ris, Convivial, and Maydan. Call in advance as the menu at each changes often. It also depends how strict the gluten-free diet is.
