Bonus points if it’s free with Kindle Unlimited. I’m going to be in a place with no electricity or cell service for 4 days and I’d love something fun to read that will keep me entertained during down time. I like historical fiction, classics (though I’ve read most), silly romcom type books, occasionally thrillers if they are not too dark.
Would love ideas today because I leave tomorrow! |

| The Hearts Invisible Furies by John Boyne is one of my favorites. Highly recommend it! |
| I would get library access and download a bunch through overdrive or libby or whatever. |

I got Over Her Dead Body as part of the Amazon First Reads program and really enjoyed it:

I like historical fiction too.
I really liked a trilogy about the Irish famine by Charles Egan. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RTZY9CH/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title Especially book 2 (the Exile breed) If you're ok with the content being very dark and disturbing, "The Road out of Hell; Sanford Clark and the True Story of the Wineville Murders" is excellent. If you saw the movie "Changeling"--this is about the man who is assumed to have murdered Walter Collins. He abused his nephew and forced him to be an accomplice to the torture of and murder of several young boys in the 1920s. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VYGX8H8/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title |
This is the best recommendation and the only way I read books on my Kindle! My tip prior to travel--Be sure to download more than you think you need in case you start reading a book that you don't like, you can easily move to another. |
| ^Sorry, I should have clarified that the trilogy about the Irish famine is historical fiction. The book about Sanford Clark is not--it is all true. |

Not helpful now but sign up for Tor’s ebook of the month— they offer some great ebooks for free (usually say the first book in a series where the latest book is being published now).
Last month was the Empress of Salt and Fortune which I really enjoyed (but it’s almost a novella so would not have been happy to have paid full price for it). |
^ Very important tip! Also make sure your Kindle is fully charged. |
Author? |
| I really like the skip the line feature on libby. |
Yes! Always have five or six options on your Kindle. Library ebooks are pretty much the best thing ever. |
Wait, what is this? Are these the books with unlimited copies? |
