Is a 2015 birthday a u8 or a u7?

My daughter plays on a rec soccer team that is all 2015 girls. My daughter turned 7 in February, and she turns 8 in Feb 2015.
I thought she was U8. Our team info sent by the league all referred to U8. We were just sent info about the All Star tournament in a few weeks and it listed the ages for u8 as 1/1/2014-12/31/2014. So is she u7 or u8? Does it differ by league? (This is CYA in Fairfax, VA.) |

| I'm thinking they forgot to update the birthdates for this year. My oldest played in that tournament for CYA last fall and has a late spring 2014 birthday. They were a U8 last year and are playing travel on a U9 team this year. Everyone on the roster has a 2014 birthdate. |

| Thanks for responding! My husband agrees with you that they must have forgotten to update the birth years. If your child played last year then 2015 must be U8 this year. Appreciate it! |
