TJ Class of 2026 - Number of Special Education Admitted?

Anonymous
I heard that there were almost no kids admitted to the class if 2026 who got the Special Education experience factor. How true is this? Did they eliminate this as one of the factors?

I would assume that it’s very very low. The press release was silent on it for the class of 2026. It was one of the bragging points for the class of 2025.

I am assuming you mean kids with IEPs who are 2E. The kids who are really bright but process information differently so they have accommodations that allow them to show what they have learned in a non-traditional manner?

I am guessing that TJ is probably a bit daunting for a young person who is learning how they learn even if they can do the work. I know that I had cowards leave me notes in my mailbox at Grad School telling me I didn't belong in my PhD program because I had LDs and some accommodations. If grown as adults are that competitive and ill informed, I can't imagine what a school like TJ would be like with all the parents looking to pick apart the kids who are admitted in favor of another kid.

The amount of kids admitted with ANY disability has historically been very low. My TJ kid has a 504 and my kid’s math teacher refused the 504 accommodations. Seriously, and felt openly entitled to the view too.
Most TJ teachers have been wonderful though.
