| My rabbit's regular vet is at a loss, and is recommending a more specialized exotics clinic. I am in Maryland, so she is recommending Maryland Exotics (Rockville). I didn't even know they existed, so I asked about Pender and Stahl in Virginia. She said she would do Maryland Exotics over Pender. She didn't say anything about Stahl, but I have heard good things about them. Does anyone have any recommendations? I see there is also Blue Ridge in Purcellville VA, but I'm not sure how much they specialize in exotics. |
| OP again. Apparently Stahl is also called SEAVS. |
| Pender Exotics is great! |

The last time I was at Maryland Exotics, several years ago, Dr. Carr was great. I also noticed they work with rabbit rescues.
I didn’t return because I was only there because my regular avian vet was on vacation and it was an emergency, also it’s far for me. But I’d recommend them. |

I had a rabbit that I took to SEAVS. They are excellent.

Thanks all. I took her to SEAVS today and agree they were excellent. The vet diagnosed the problem that had been missed by two other vets.
Now I have to rob a bank to pay for it.

| Glad you found a good vet OP. We use Pender for both of our rabbits as well as our dogs. They are great. I've heard good things about Blue Ridge too, but have no personal experience with them. Pender seems to have an uptick in patients recently, so it can be hard to get through on the phone to the regular dog/cat clinic and we were referred out to another ER vet when the clinic was full one weekend. However, when we had an emergency with one of the rabbits, they were able to work us in right away. |
Glad you went to Stahl. We take our pets there and have always felt they provide excellent care. |
