Taking Verizon phone to the UK

I'll be taking my Verizon iPhone to the UK for several weeks and would like to avoid Verizon's costly international plan. Has anyone bought a SIM card from a UK vendor and if so, any recommendations for which vendor?

I just used Tesco Mobile for the first time these past two weeks. They piggyback onto O2, itself a reliable carrier. 10£ for 10GBs/5000 minutes/1000 texts. UK/Europe only, North America not accessible. Walk into any Tesco, they'll help you find what you'll need. Hard time putting their nano SIM card into my phone. Called them to set up plan details after I did. Pleasant, capable customer service. Had no reception problems traveling throughout England and Scotland. Vacation every summer in UK and will use again in 2023

Verizon allows calls over wifi. If you've got good wifi then you should be all set. You could also look into portable wifi. Enjoy your trip
