| DD was not happy that she got A- and thought about retaking this class. Does it worth retaking? |
| No. Why is she unhappy with an A-? Is she worried about something? |
| what????????? Why would this even be a thought? |
| She has never get an A- before. It’s always A. She’s a perfectionist. I’ll let her know that it’s not worth retaking it. |
|
And maybe get her some professional help for the perfectionism?
Speaking from personal experience, it can take her to dark places if left untreated. |
| How to treat perfectionism? Counseling? |
| My kid got an 89.3. He’d kill to have an A- instead of a B+. |
| Much more important to learn new and high level information then just focus on a perfect GPA. It is misguided. |
| Can you retake Algebra II? How does that work? |
|
does FCPS do A-?
I think FCCPS has just full grades? |
| there is no A+, but yes there is A, A-, B+, B, B- etc. |
My kid had 92.5 or 92.7 in 7th grade english and got A-. It may very well have costed TJ, though every other course, including 8th grade english was an A or even A+ level (A+ doesn't exist, but marks were well above baseline 93 for an A). |
| FFS, this is why my so many kids struggle with mental health issues. Seriously, OP, get you and your DD some therapy and please, for god's sake, don't spread this attitude around. Sickening. |
A- is pretty good and definitely not worth re-taking the class. Instead, let DD focus her energy on Pre-cal HN. Is your plan to re-take every HS course that didn't have an A? How do you think it will end? It will be depressing and un-motivating to re-take a full year course all over again! Please don't push her and let her relax and enjoy her education. Please don't sacrifice the childhood for an A. |
My DC wound up with an 89.8 and was thrilled to get an A-. (All other grades are As). I guess it's all about perspective. |
