Lawn care service in Montgomery County? Please help!

Anonymous
I used Natural Lawn last year to care for my new sold and they destroyed it.
They refunded my money but I'm left with a lawn full of weeds and some bare spots.
I aerated and seeded but I need weed control

I contacted Chesapeake because the lawns around here with their signs are gorgeous. They only respond with these automated emails and they have the lawn area wrong, the issues with my lawn are wrong and I don't think my survey loaded properly.
I can't get a real person so for that reason, it's not a good fit.

Aren't there any services that will look at your lawn and decide what needs to be done or do they all just have a generic treatment they use?

Chesapeake said to wait a year to treat bare spots. What? It's only April.

I really want a nice lawn but I'm struggling to find someone to help me get there.
Any advice appreciated.

What an utterly unhelpful comment (and a poor attempt at humor I might add)

You could spread grass seed yourself if you can't find a service. I think they sell seed that comes with fertilizer. Now is a good time to do that before it gets warm. You can also purchase the turf in rolls and unroll it yourself.

I would really hesitate to use weed killer because all those products are carcinogenic.

If you really want to get into it on your own you can also take soil samples for analysis so you know what you need to do to improve the soil.

It was meant as humor. Right now, end of April, you are too late to seed. You can start weed treatment but you already missed early spring application. That's why Chesapeake folks told you to wait a year. Usually it takes 2-3 years go get your lawn healthy.

I aerated and seeded last fall on some bare spots and this spring it's looking nice. I think the key is watering it every day or use sprinkler. I have a fairly small lawn so i watered it with a hose everyday in the fall and people looked at me like I was crazy.

OP wants it NOW though.

The solution for NOW is to hire a landscape company to remove the existing lawn and put down sod.

Two recommendations, both great companies, ran by really nice, honest people:

Goshen Enterprises - https://goshenenterprises.com/

Complete Lawn Care - https://growinglawns.com/

It’s not too late to seed in April and it could grow in a few weeks if watered. That landscaping company was wrong.

My husband was monitoring local soil temps before planting seed and he did it about 1 week ago.

It is too late unless you are out there watering for weeks

Sprinklers do the watering on a timer. You aren’t getting a great lawn without sprinklers.
