Experiences at Marine Science Camp at Acadia Institute

Looking at the Intermediate Marine Science Camp at the Acadia Institute in Maine this summer for 12yo DD. The camp would be super $$$ for us but it could also be an amazing experience for DD who is very interested in marine sciences. If anybody has sent their children there, I would love to hear about their experiences and your view of the camp. I know there are no guarantees but it would be so disappointing if we spent this amount of money for a mediocre experience.

Well, old post and years and years ago when I attended and it was a wonderful experience. Had the chance to design our own experiments with guidance and I became a biologist, doing my first research in college on a similar subject.

No personal experience with this camp- we thought it was too expensive. We did the Sleep-away marine biology camp at UNC - Wilmington and it was great! All day filled with exciting, hand on stuff, and even free time was filled with fun adventures. Definitely recommend that!
