Anyone had a Brazilian Keratin treatment at House of Alexis in Bethesda?

I just had an extremely pricey, but otherwise satisfying one at Inari in DC, and am already looking forward to a second one. House of Alexis offers it for about half the price, but are they good? Thanks!

does this damage your hair? I have really fine hair and want to get this done but Im afraid!

I'm sure the fumes will eventually kill the people who have to handle the chemicals everyday.

Yeah, my hairdresser told me that it's totally fine and to think about all the other chemicals we use on a daily basis. I then had to tell her that is why I do not straighten or color my hair. It's also why I only use all natural shampoos, conditioners, hair products and soaps. I have thought about it....and my health overrules my vanity. My Mom passed away from cancer....and it really caused me to make some great changes in my life. I have no control over the future, but I can control what goes in and on my body!

I'm pretty laid back about most chemicals....I color my hair, wear make-up, use nail polish,....

But when I read this:

According to sources such as Allure Magazine and The CBS Morning Show, The Brazilian Keratin Treatment (BKT) uses formaldehyde, a chemical known to cause cancer.
Allure magazine tested samples of BKT and found that they contained at least 10 times more formaldehyde than is recommended.

Yeah. No way.
