Sidwell has a financial aid calculator on their website. I put in a family of 4 with an AGI of $140-$160K and it said the size of average award is $19K.
I'm curious though about the fact that if you put family of 4 with an AGI of $120-140K the average award is lower. This was the case with several other scenarios I tried. Is there a reason for the bump in aid for this particular type of family or could this be a glitch in the calculator. This is really just a curiosity question.....I haven't even applied for aid at Sidwell. Anyone know? |
| My impression is that the "calculator" actually reports the average real grant to families meeting those characteristics, at the time it was put together. So, it is likely that the odd numbers are an artifact of the specific circumstances of those families at that time. |
| Interesting. I put in family of 5, with AGI above 200k, and it said the average award was almost $17,000. With an AGI of about $250, should I have applied for financial aid? I just felt like, relative to the 95%+ of the population that makes less than I do, I wasn't deserving of assistance. |
Wondering maybe if their average family of 5 with AGI of $250K has 3 children in private.....that might explain it. |
