Elder Care social worker/Case Manager for Northern VA

Anonymous
I need to move my parent to Northern VA, find an apartment that is handicap accessible, and hire a home health aide part time. ISO of a elder care social worker/case manager who can help me navigate the complexities of this situation. I work full time and have young children which is very challenging with this transition.

You might want to consider a full time, or even live in care giver instead of part time.

Full time caregiver would be ideal and necessary. Unfortunately, that option is not financially feasible for our family

Different poster. It is really hard to find part time people from our experience. Case managers are very expensive. You might want to try Care.com or something like that, but make sure the person is bonded and insured. I would look into affordable independent and assisted living options. Call your council on aging.

Pardon my ignorance but is there such as thing as "affordable" independent and assisted living options. The ones I have found so far are thousands of $$ per month.

There are options with adjustments based on income. I can't recall what it is called.

Culpepper Garden in Arlington. The Presbyterian Church on Great Falls in McLean has one next to it. The assisted living facility next to Longfellow MS in McLean May be more affordable.

Elder Care Consultants Inc.
eldercc.com

They can't do everything but they can do A LOT. Jill Thurber has been fabulous. Without her I would have gone insane.

Is this an ad? the person made the request in October. It's like you searched posts and wanted to put in a plug.
