Does anyone know if certain class levels do certain roles in the Nutcracker?
ex: Level 2 students play x, y or z

Is your child level 2? They audition for party girls, soldiers, and clowns. Plan on being a soldier.

It's been a few years, but if I'm remembering correctly, pre-ballet 3 kids audition for bumble bees and mushrooms, and 1A and 1B are snow angels or mice.

Senior ballet mom here. Tell me about your child and I will tell you what they can try out for AND what they will get. Give me their class level, talent, small/medium/tall stature, energy level, and gender. Be honest.

New to this, but I'll bite. Level 3, medium talent, tall thin goofy girl

Not the earlier poster, but another parents with many years at TWSB. My bet is on page, possibly soldier, though it depends on what you mean by goofy. The soldiers do need to stay in step perfectly.

I’m the previous poster! She’ll be a soldier. She’ll have fun! Post back to tell me I’m right!

Who’s next?

My DC dances at a different studio but I'm curious about what others are doing for the Nutcracker this year - in person performances with COVID restrictions? My DC is so excited to dance for an audience this year, fingers crossed everything goes smoothly!

We're doing The Kennedy Center's Nutcracker. It is a bit of culture shock bc dd is used to dancing at TWSB (rehearsals aren't run as professionally and the talent level is less) BUT I am really happy with their covid protocols. Masks on always. Younger kids have to submit weekly negative test results

We are going to sit it out this year. We are just not at the point I'm ready for the large cramped groups.
DD is bummed, but we'll be back next year with bells on!

Makes sense to do what your family feels comfortable with! The Nutcracker definitely isn't going anywhere, haha.
