Please join us for the first of our Winter Speaker Series (FREE). Anger Overload: How you can help your child take charge of his or her anger - Shira Gottlieb, Psy.D.
In her work with children and teens, Dr. Gottlieb has developed three main approaches that help children learn skills in order to take control of their anger. In this presentation, she will focus on these strategies, including practical hands-on approaches that you can practice with your child at home. The goal is to help children and teens learn to better manage feelings of anger, and develop greater emotion regulation more broadly. You will leave this presentation with new insight, understanding, and most importantly, strategies to help your child take charge of his or her anger and regain control of his or her behavior.

I don't know why I seem to be the only parent doing this. The looks and head shakes from other moms as my kids scarf in the cart is the least of my worries, but really, what's the big deal?

Maybe you’ve heard of the pollution credits and carbon offsets made available to Big Business. Today I’m wondering about credits and offsets for non-green Valentines. You see, last week I blogged about Green Valentines, happily recalling the days when I enjoyed making simple homemade “green” Valentines with my son.
I expected to do the same this year. But this year I don’t have a preschooler. I have a BIG BOY kindergartner whose best friend is giving out Hot Wheels Valentines.
