Best agency to find a nanny? RSS feed

I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of where to look? I’ve heard very mixed reviews from White House Nannies and am not familiar with any other ones.

I’ve tried care.com but am looking for someone with some special needs experience (just dealing with kids who are different not like diapering or doing medical stuff) and people don’t even seem to read my ad before sending a million applications. I think maybe they just see a rate that is acceptable to them and submit something without meeting the qualifications.

Our former nanny found her new job through Pink Nannies and said they were very thorough and professional. They spoke with me (her then employer) multiple times - first before she was accepted to the agency as a candidate and during the vetting process for a new job. They sounded pretty good. Our nanny found them much more professional than White House nannies - just her personal opinion.

We used Nannypoppinz and Adventure Nannies. Stay away from WHN, they just want your $$

I found Nannypoppinz to be far worse than WHN: nice to rope you in, but after that rude and not helpful. At least you know what you are signing up for with WHN. I do think temporary WHN is better than their permanent division. Even though I had my share of issues with WHN, I keep going back (simply because I don’t have a better alternative). But, I would never go back or recommend Nannypoppinz.
