Change of status for au pair RSS feed

Our AP is not infant qualified and we are unexpectedly expecting. Our agency will not let her accrue addtl IQ experience in the U.S. despite many months lead time. Is there any way we can sponsor her for employment to get her to stay? Change her status? H1B? She'll have only been here 9 months when the baby is born, and we adore her. Ideas welcome. We only want to do things legally; I just don't know what options I have.

Absolutely no way to do legally. Sorry.

Same thing happened to my friend.

No legal way to do it, at least in your time frame.

You can sponsor her for employment as your nanny. This would probably take you a year, she would need to go home, and you will need to spend $10-20K on a lawyer. And there's a big risk your application is denied.
