It's much more prevalent in the nanny industry than the daycare industry.

Families often pay under the table, don't pay into required govt benefits, don't pay required overtime, don't carry the required workers comp, etc

Not paying working interviews
Not paying shadow days
Not paying “training” days

Why only in day care industry? Any low wages job where a contract is not required.
My social security statement shows that I didn't work for two years when I know I worked 40+ hours a week. That was just one employer out of maney that didn't pay their share.
