Hi,
We just arrived from overseas, with our Filipina nanny joining us. Are there any OFW meet up places on weekends in the area to which I can direct our nanny? I want to help her find some friends and ease her cultural transition. We live near Forest Glen metro, so MD preferred - but metro accessible anywhere is ok. Thank you! |
CASA maybe. |
CASA de Maryland is hispanic. You might want to check out these:
http://www.katipunan.org/ http://www.thefilipino.com/filipinosinmaryland.html I can't vouch for those organizations specifically but I know there are rich immigrant communities in the Takoma and Wheaton areas. |
Find a library near you and check their playgoup meet-up schedules. You will find so many filipina nannies there. |
Take her to an Asian stores or Filipino Restaurants so she can meet new friends. |
I am looking for a Filipina live-in nanny if you know of anyone. Thanks! |
There is a fairly new Filipino Restaurant in Wheaton Plaza "Lumpia Pansit".
And there is a Filipino Store in Wheaton: http://www.yelp.com/biz/filipino-home-baking-and-grocery-silver-spring http://www.migrantheritage.org/index.html this is a filipino organization. |
Thank you!!! |
Lots of Filipina nannies at playgrounds near CC Circle in CHevy Chase, DC. A big social group. |
