Care.com membership fees RSS feed

I would like to join care.com to find a babysitter. However, I cannot find their membership fee information from their website.

Isn't care.com free?

It is definitely not free for parents looking to hire. There is a trial or low membership but you can only post one job and you have no access to contact, or possibly cannot even respond to applicants via messages. I would guess somewhere in the ball park of $35/month, that's what they charge for nannies premium memberships, so I'm guessing its similar.

What a ripoff they are.

PP here- yes it really is! And only to find parents wanting a nanny for 3, with pick up drop-off meal prep for 5/hr haha

I'm the nanny who thought care.com was free - WHOA! $35/month is bordering on a scam. Every nanny I know who advertises on care.com also advertises on Sittercity (which I use and am 99% certain is free for all parties?) and most advertise on CL, on bulletin boards, and through neighborhood listservs too. I definitely don't envy parents the hunt for a great nanny.

It's definitely not free for families, but as a caregiver it is, and is in many cases the easiest way to find a family and employment. Much better than sittercity and other sites, IMO.

For families, sitter city and care are very similar in fee structure.

Sittercity is only free for parents as a 7-day trial.

if you sign up for one year then it comes down to about $10/month which i think is reasonable. i signed up for both and think many sitters are on both (am a MB) so will likely only sign up for one next time

I thought it was reasonable. I found my nanny there. Seemed reasonably professional to me.

do you need to be on facebook to be on care.com?

I am currently in a dispute with Care.com because I purposefully signed up for a 1 month membership, that is a little more expensive than getting a few months at a time, so that I could see what it was about and now I realized that I have been getting reoccuring charges for my credit card for the last 5 months instead of the 1 MONTH that I signed up for. Apparently even if you sign up for 1 MONTH you have to downgrade your membership to stop getting charges. Very misleading!!!

Sign up for free at first. then in the next few days you'll get a 20 or 30% off coupon in your email. then join if you want.
