You must disclose that in the interview, a lot of APs don’t align well with atheism and other absence of beliefs like Scientology.

It's odd that OP doesn't see religion as a defining issue that may affect how different people get along. It's the basis of countless wars...

Atheists are not absent of beliefs. They don't believe in your god but that doesn't mean they are devoid of beliefs about the world.

Atheists don't believe in anything supernatural. I think you're referring to agnostics.

I would not select an au pair who is a religious Christian in the same way that I wouldn't select an au pair who eats meat. It is not something would be align well with the household and au pairs live in the household.

Not believing in supernatural things doesn’t mean you have no beliefs. I don’t believe in the supernatural or in god but bit that doesn’t mean I don’t believe in anything.

I’ve known a few atheists, very emptied and aloof folks.

We have had quite a few Christian au pairs turn us down because they were discriminatory towards non Christian religions. I don't have an issue, but they seemed to have one. I think many of these au pairs have never even met a non-Christian before. And then proceeded to tell me that people of my relgiion are terrorists. Oh hell no.
