I disagree - I was the same in my 20's, figured why do I need one if I have my phone? Got a really nice watch ofr #30 and have really enjoyed wearing it - as jewelery and as a way to keep time. I've also noticed the big trendy Michelle and Michael Kors watched for girls in their teens and 20's - more of a statement than practicality.

I have a Tag for going out/dressing up and a silver and gold Michael Kors that I have for every day use. I prefer to the MK one, to be honest, but DH was so excited to buy me the Tag that I do wear it for going out. Like another PP, he has a bit of a watch obsession.

Skagen. Have worn them for the past twelve years since I got one as a bridesmaid gift. They are smart looking and very reasonably priced. I got my latest one from Amazon for around $60 which is like half of what you pay at the department store.

I usually wear a simple, silver band Bulova (well under $1000 lol), but lately I've been wearing my 25yr old classic Movado "museum" watch.

A Raymond Weil my husband found in the street, turned in to the police like the Boy Scout he is, and went back to claim exactly one year later. He found it literally the day after I told him a watch would be much too expensive a birthday present (we were in grad school)... now we call it my street trash watch.

Raymond Weil... Have had it 13 yrs and still love it. I got a Tag as a gift and wear it but its a little too clunky for me. I wear that more on the weekend.

One of these days, I would love to own a rolex. I agree the younger generation does not wear a watch because they always have their phones with them. The truly scary part is that many teens do not know how to tell time on an analog clock.

I have several watches that I absolutely love, wear them all the time and I always get compliments on them... all but one cost under $50 and one was a gift, no brand but I think it cost more than $100. Fwiw, I have a good HHI but cannot bring myself to spend much more for a watch.

I read something recently that listed current items that will become obsolete in the near future--watches were at the top of the list. I thought it was crazy until I started observing the under 30 set and most do not appear to wear watches--just the old fogies.

Patek Philippe Calatrava in white gold. It's a simple, classic manual watch, and I love it!
