It is a side effect of many SSRIs. Effexor and Celexa both made my skin horrible. Your doctor is ignorant.
OP, do you have a dermatologist? He/she can work with you.

It could just be that your hormones are changing. I'm 43 and just started to have acne outbreaks.

I am a 46 yr old woman who has been taking the medications Zoloft and Seroquel for the past seven or eight mos. I suffer from Bi-Polar disorder as well as Anxiety issues.
The meds have made a HUGE difference in my mental health and my quality of life is so much better. Finally, I can see how it is to live a "normal" life w/stability. I am on 200mg. of Zoloft and 175mg. of Seroquel.
My problem?
I am breaking out more and more every day.
This started the last six mos. or so.
I told my Dr. and he even noticed I am getting more pimples on my face and chest, however he says it is not a typical side effect of these meds.
However, nothing else has changed in my life. Diet, cleansing routines, health, etc.
Does anyone else have this problem?
If so, what did you do?
