I agree with this. I'm in 16th St Heights, but the house we bought 2 years ago is in the Deal district, with feeder rights to Wilson. That was a huge part of why we bought this house. We love the neighborhood, and were worried about the schools, but this sealed the deal. Now the lines will be moved, and we too might have to decide what to do. My neighbors at the park don't want to send their little ones to a K-8, and nearly all of them are looking at charters. I hope we could all work together to make West and whatever our new middle school is better, but I know that is a lot of what-ifs for people.
Please. Some of your neighbors at the park do send their little ones to West. West is doing just fine, and will be even better as K-5. Go by the school some time to visit. You can always volunteer at the parent organization to get involved or directly with the school.
